About

Why I made Between Tides

I struggle with focus, and getting started is often the hardest part of a task for me. Having an accountability buddy helps. Even a quick “I’m going to work on this for half an hour” makes it easier for me to begin.

I’ve always liked how RuneScape gave me a small goal to work toward and a sense of progress along the way. I wanted a game I could play during the workday that helped me focus on the task in front of me.

That’s why I made Between Tides. I can pick a destination, start a timer, and let my ship sail while I work. A friend can sail alongside me, and when the timer ends, there’s cargo waiting at the harbor.
